Find out more about Gold class by reading the Welcome Booklet below:

In Gold Class we will provide the essential foundation for all future learning. We deliver a socially and emotionally secure environment, with an informal atmosphere, in which the children are able to learn successfully and play purposefully. We also have an environment which they are able to develop their language, physical and social skills, and to explore and experiment.

Tapestry is used to record children's learning and we share this with parents regularly. The planning we have is long term and has in it predictable interests such as the weather and festivals, however as most of our planning is child-led it can change from week to week.

We observe children as they play and interact with others and complete a 2 year check with support from parents and carers between the ages of 24 and 36 months.

In Gold Class we have a strong key worker system which is very important for young children. This means your child will be allocated a member of staff who has responsibility for developing a trusting and caring relationship with you and your child.

It is important that children feel they 'belong' and their key worker will ensure new children are settled into the group as quickly and easily as possible. Parents are encouraged to visit with their child prior to children starting pre school. This helps to build up their child's confidence in this new environment.

Children need to feel they have someone they can rely on and their key worker will take a special interest in them, ensuring they are happy and enjoying their time at pre school.

Please see Nursery page for more information about how we plan in the moment in Early Years at our school.
